Why does communist like embalm their leader's corpse ?

Lenin's corpse was embalm in Soviet union, Mao trach dong's corpse was embalm in China, Ho chi minh's corpse was embalm in Vietnam. Communist governments never care their people's life. While people's life is very poverty-stricken, but communist governments still spend lots of money for preservation their leaders. Why do they have to do that ?
