Zoologists/ ornithologist who work on penguins?

What all can I do with these guys working as a zoologist? I am the most interested in behavior and intelligence, but also breeding and their mate selection as well as their migratory patterns. Anyways, the only thing I am worried in is traveling, because I don't want to live in Antarctica and be there months at a time, so what all can I do here in the states with penguins? I am not saying that going to antarctica for a couple weeks every year is out of the question, but I don't want to be gone all the time. Can I work in a lab with live penguins? Or something to that extent?
