Have a terrible summer cold?

I have a terrible summer cold and it is getting worse! It is beginning to get into my chest like bronchitis. I have recurring bouts with bronchitis and do not want to go there again! Those antibiotics and steroid shots make me feel lousy! Plus, I do not think I have an infection quite yet. Though, my sinuses and chest will be infected before long. Anybody got any great home remedies to help it p more quickly? I am already using most otc meds for the symptoms. (like nyquil, afrin, allergy/cold medicine during the day). I am really quite sure it is just a cold virus- sneezing, coughing, runny/stuffy nose, achiness, headache, sore throat. No fever at this time.
