Barking dog?

My 1 year old aulstrailan shepard is a huge barker, which isnt a problem if im home. however for three days i was out of town during this time neighbor fed and gave the two dogs water, however we used a shock colar for the 1 year old dog so she wouldnt bark. With our 5 year old when she was a puppy this worked great, now she only barkes when someone is at the house or something is wrong. We hated to use it but it worked so tried it on the new puppy. However this time I think eve (the puppy) isnt as smart as our other dogs becuase when we came home she now has two marks (wholes actually) where the prongs were for the shocking part. I took off both of her colars and cleaned it with proxide and put neos on it what else can i do to help this heal? Also she is going to the vet but we can only get her in july 2nd. Also does anyone know any other way that wont hurt her to make her stop barking?
