You could have the students measure out different mes for each soil on the electronic balance (or a specific m for each, which would be more applicable to their comparative properties). Next have them place the samples in their respective pieces of filter paper. On your list it doesn't say whether or not you have access to H2O, but if you do, it's essential here. Have them place the same amount of water into each sample (while the filter paper is in a funnel and placed over a measuring cylinder or beaker) and then measure the amount of water that pes through each sample to determine which is the most/least porous.
