CD player in car how?

I have a fiat punto 1.2 active 2004. I have tried to put in my Kenwood KDC-W331G cd player, but it doesn't work. It makes a noise, as if i've input a cd, but doesn't come on at all. I don't know whats wrong. Please help?? Its annoying me. Thanks!!
