Has anyone had a testicular biopsy and found sperm?

Should we go through with this procedure? Doc has said before they probably wont find any sperm but we need to know either way before we spend Thousands of $ on ART'S AND MEDS to make it happen and for piece of mind. also is it a painful and long procedure?
