How can i get or make a Regency/Georgian costume dress?

Simply, friends are having a Pride and Predjudice/Jane Austen party and we are trying for period costume. Obviously want to look quite good, but being of a limited budget, i dont really know what to do. Am not an experienced sewer but do alright, so what would you guys suggest? thanks x
